Digital Download Help
PLAYBACK
All digital downloads from wickedpixel.com are encoded using the H.264/MPEG-4 AVC Codec, using the file extension “.mp4”
Mp4 compression is an approved standard that can be played back on most devices and operating systems less than 2 years old. Due to the tremendous amount of devices available worldwide, Wicked Pixel Cinema cannot test every device for playback compatibility. We have created a test clip for you to download to your device so you can better determine if playback is possible.
We strongly urge you to download and test this clip BEFORE purchasing a Digital Download from us. Digital Downloads are NOT REFUNDABLE due to the nature of the content.
The test clip is available by clicking HERE and selecting save if prompted. You can also right click the link and “save target as” in Internet Explorer or “save link as” in Chrome, Firefox and Opera.
The clip and Downloads have been tested on the following systems and devices and should play without needing additional software except when listed:
Operating Systems:
- Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7,8,10,11 (using Windows Media Player 11 or Higher)
- Mac OSX, and 9 (Using ITunes or QuickTime 6 or higher)
- Android 1.5 and higher
- IPhone 3G, 4 and 5
The Following Operating systems and devices might need 3rd party decoders/playback software: (See tips below)
- Windows 98 or earlier
- Android 1.0 or earlier
- Mac OS 8 or Below
- IPhone (Original release)
Tips for playback on Older Systems
A good starting point, if the test clip does not play on your Windows or Mac system, is to download and install Videolan Player. It can be downloaded HERE. This will install the needed mpeg4/H264 codec to your system to allow playback. Install then reboot the PC and test the playback. Other H264/mpeg4 Players might yield the same results. QuickTime 6 or above should also playback most mp4 files. Use Google to search out other alternatives as well.
On Mobile Devices you might need other 3rd party players or converters for your specific mobile device, if the test clip does not play.
We apologize, but we cannot offer direct, specific support. We provide the above info as a self-help guide only. Wicked Pixel Cinema and its staff cannot be held responsible for any damages or data loss due to your installing any 3rd party software. If downloading on a Mobile device, additional data charges may apply, depending on your data plan usage.
FAQ about DOWNLOADING
1. How do I download the files?
Once a purchase is made and the sale approved, you should receive a download link via the EMAIL address listed on your PayPal account. Please make sure this email address is accurate. When you receive the link, on most systems clicking on it should prompt you to SAVE the file in your browser or email program. Some systems with QuickTime or other plugins will NOT prompt you, but instead try to open the file and stream the entire feature in real time. This is incorrect and will NOT allow you to save a hard copy for watching at a later time. You need to paste the URL into your browser or right click the link and save target or save link. You may also paste it into a downloading application of your choosing. Do NOT stream the media within the browser window.
2. How long do I have to download my purchase?
The link to your download will be encrypted and will ONLY stay active for 36 hours. The link will also not function after 3 FAILED download attempts. Once that time is elapsed, the link will cease to function and the download will no longer be available. All downloads and download attempts are monitored.
3. I did not get an email with my download links. What do I do?
If you have not received a link within 5-10 minutes after purchase, please check your spam folder or junk email folder for the email.
If you still do not have the email, please provide the information below to the address HERE
- Date and Time of purchase
- Product Purchased
- PayPal confirmation/Order Number
- Your email address for contact purposes
The size of each digital download ranges from 2 to 4 gigabytes of data. The average download time per movie runs between 45 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes, depending on your internet connection. As these are high quality files, slow modems are not recommended for digital downloads.
